And they’re off!

The nominees for the 2006 SA Blog Awards were selected earlier this week. The other side of the mountain made the cut in three categories [trumpet fanfare], due in no small part to people like Andrea. But who else to vote for? Hmmm… decisions, decisions. If I may offer a few suggestions…

In no particular order: Aquila online, Big Ric’s personal space, Chumpstyle, Ekapa’s blog, It is the question that drives us mad, Queer mind, Redsaid, Reluctant Nomad, Riding the slipstream, Rox in the city, Somenoone, Ten miles beyond the city and Terri’s web stuff. Okay, so I lied – alphabetical order.

Well, what are you waiting for? Put that mouse to work, blogfans!

  1. And the Bloscar goes to…KYK! [insert mad cheering and deafening whistling]
Congrats boet! For being nominated I mean. But seeing the competition (the losers who you will obviously burn to ashes) wining all three categories is a given πŸ™‚

  2. You have a worse time of it than I do in that you have quite a number of ‘conflicting nominees’. In my case, for most of the categories, I only have to choose between you and Slipstream. So, in the interests of impartiality blah blah, I will spread the votes as evenly as I can.

But, as much as I like Terri, I’ll be damned if I vote for her! πŸ™‚

  3. OHS: Don’t worry, I’ll still respect you in the morning.

anne: Yes. No. Maybe. I don’t know – could you repeat the question?

Lyn: I’m pretty stoked about the nominations, but I’m not going to be doing any victory laps just yet.

Reluctant Nomad: I have to tell you that being pitted against the Chitster is seriously intimidating for me. I disagree that you’d be damned if you voted for Terri. You’d be welcomed at the Pearly Gates with open arms πŸ™‚

    Red: A pleasure, sugarplum πŸ™‚

  4. Wish we could see the results-so-far like on BoB, but there was quite the fiasco around that as I recall (like the day I sneaked ahead of the winner, then she suddenly had 25 votes within about an hour — wham bam thank you ma’am), so it’s probably better this way.

  5. LOL @ your Darkest Africa post!
Thanks for the advertising… and Nomad, what can I say? Ditto!
As for your response, KN: Flattery will get you everywhere. You should be in politics πŸ˜‰

  6. Tammy: Ta muchly.

andrea: Probably, although “…wham bam thank you ma’am…” doesn’t sound like such a bad idea ;->

DelBoy: Thanks Del. It’s hard to laugh with a cracked shin, though.

Terri: My mind shrivels at the very thought.

LiVEwiRe: Just as soon as the (mind-bogglingly enormous) first prize is paid out.

    3T: Excellent. Thank you.

Snake: Hah! Voted. Hands down. Geddit? Oh never mind. Most generous of you, Hoss. This is even better than unswerving loyalty.

  7. Hmm, I’ve got to split my votes between you and chitty. Because, well…you know πŸ˜‰

I think you’re funnier though so the humor vote goes to you. πŸ™‚

  8. Anduin: Fun isn’t the exactly first word that springs to mind for me. Also, I get a lot of milage out of ‘dark and mysterious’

boudica: Coincidence? I think not. Must be the cornish pasties.

juliana: Yeah, I know. Thanks for the humour vote, though πŸ™‚

Tertia: That was Thabo, not me. I know we look similar, but really!

Ol’ Hoss: Yeah well, I suppose 2005 was a depressing year all round.

    Toad: Ag, thanks hey.

    Tart: Smooch right back atcha!

  9. I think if the amount of comments your site generates are anything to go by… you sir stand a good chance to win at least one (if not two) categories. Keep up the good work!
